Notice that these hotkeys (F1-F12 and Q, W, E, R and T) are placed next to each other on the keyboard for easy access. If you wish, however, you can reassign
these in the Options->Controls menu, accessed from the Main Menu. The only keys you cannot change are the F-keys, F1 through F12.

Since most of the keys assignments can be changed in the options menu, the keys in this section state the default values.

In the menu's

move to the next option in the current menu
Up arrow or left arrow
move to the previous option in the current menu

go up one level

When located on a race track, street adventure or custom track, the recorded high scores will be announced

During the race
Arrow up
throttle
Arrow down
brake
Arrow left

gear up (with manual transmission)

Check what gear you are currently in

Hear your current lap number

Hear how far you have progressed in the race, in percentages accurate up to two decimals.

Hear how far you have progressed in the current lap, in percentages accurate up to two decimals.

Check the time for how long you have been racing
F1 through F8
player vehicle information. Press the key that corresponds to the player number you are interested in to hear which vehicle they are using. For example,
press F4 to hear information about player number 4.
F9
track name. Press this key to hear the name of the current track.
F12
Pause / unpause. Press this key either in Single Race or time trial to pause or unpause the race.
Escape
exit race

start race (during multi-player game, only server)
